Will Downing is Back .
Definitely a classique set from Will Downing -- soul that's both classic and classy, beautifully put together by a real master of the genre! We dig this set even more than some of Will's better-known records from back in the day -- and the whole thing's got a smooth, soulful balance that's really wonderful -- never cloying or cliched, with an easygoing flow that takes us back to 70s mellow work by Marvin Gaye, or some of the Isley Brothers' bedroom classics! Rex Rideout helped Downing on production for the set, and we can definitely hear his touch -- on titles that include "Ride", "I Won't Stop", "Something Special", "Just Think About It", "Baby I'm For Real", and "Let's Make It Now".
