Spank - Spank You! / 1985 CD

Great work here from Spank -- a group with a much warmer groove than some of the "spank" records you might know from the disco scene of a few years before! This time around, the rhythms are mostly midtempo -- tight-stepping grooves with lots of 80s soul touches intact -- a strong emphasis on beats and keyboards, and plenty of warm vocals over the top! Lead vocals are by Eddie Green -- who also gets album credits for "sex, dance, romance, chancellor, strip-tease, and ladies" -- quite a lot to contribute. Titles include "Oh Baby", "You", "Classy Lady", "Come On & Dance", "Night People", "It's Not What You Think", and "Freakin Babies".
