Masterful instrumentals from New Mastersounds -- still nailing it after all these years -- from furiously funky uptempo gems, to more measured moddish numbers, to some spacier jazz funk! The group has been at this for long enough that each player's parts are perfectly intuitive with the others, but most importantly, without prettying up the gritty, raw soul & funk at the core. Eddie Roberts guitar work has never sounded better, the others are just as fantastic -- with organ & piano from Joe Tatton, bass by ete Shand a nd drums by Simon Allen.
