Cannonball Adderley Quintet - Pyramid (1974)

One of Cannonball Adderley's excellent moody electric albums from the early 70s -- with a stripped down vibe that's really nice, made even better by sweeeet production by David Axelrod! The set's got great keyboard work by George Duke and Hal Galper -- both working in a spare, subtle funk mode that's a perfect fit for Axelrod's production style and Cannon's soulful soloing. Tracks include David Axelrod's "Book-Ends", plus 2 Hal Galper tunes, "Phases" and "My Lady Blue", and Cannonball's "Suite Cannon".
