First lp 1974 from the band ! Essential soulful cut !!! In-demand rare lp.
Great groovy stuff including Brother to Brother’s fabulous cover of the Gil Scott-Heron track “The Bottle” done here with a cool flanged vocal chorus on the lyrics, and a tight jazzy groove that reproduces the feel of the original, but adds some soulful female vocals! A lovely cover of N. Whitfield’s “I Wish It Would Rain” and “Hey, What’s That You say” a cover of Wood, Brass & Steel.

Detroit soul legend Dee Edwards gets a great chance at a comeback here -- working in some of the more uptempo, clubby styles used by other artists on her scene at the time! Arrangements and production are by Floyd Jones, who does a nice job of mixing the modern disco touches of the backings with some of the more down-home qualities in Dee's vocals -- a mix that almost comes across with the same blend as the work of Don Davis for other Detroit acts in the 70s. Titles include "Loving You Is All I Want To Do", "I Wanna Be Your Woman", "Don't Sit Down", "Heavy Love", "No Love No World", and "Put The World On Hold".
Does the phrase "Drac Is Back" mean anything to you?
