fabulous waller family - love mood - 1980.

The Waller Family certainly are fabulous -- a really great group of vocalists who carry a 70s family soul torch firmly into the next decade! Despite the 1980 date of the record, the feel here is a fair bit like early 70s efforts of its type -- a great mix of groovers and mellower numbers that showcase a shifting harmony approach from all family members -- sometimes gals in the lead, sometimes guys -- always working together with a really unified feel, and plenty charming on their own, given the more indie-styled nature of the set. The album's one of the few issued on the tiny Dynamic Artists label out of Richmond, and it sometimes has echoes of work by labelmates Starfire -- but again, with a sound that leans more towards a few years before. Titles include "Get Up & Dance", "Without You Tonight", "How Long Will I Be A Fool", "I Love You So", "What Good Is Love", "You Don't Miss Your Water", and "The Feelings That I Have".
